Blue Mahoe Riddim finds Triple L Records leaning less on a heavyweight star showcase and more on a broad, rootsy dancehall spread, with veteran voices like Louie Culture and newer names such as Devon Jorge, Hezron and Jahnya sharing the same cut. The set landed in 2017, and the lineup keeps the energy varied without losing its shape, moving from the conscious lift of “Good People” and “Leave Babylon” into tougher-minded tunes like “Bad Mind” and “No Award. ” There’s a nice pull in hearing Kafinal’s “I Don’t Wanna Wait” and M Deon’s “Careless Whispers” back to back, because it gives the riddim a bit of emotional range before the closing stretch.
