Magaroze Riddim – Studio 758

Magaroze comes in bright and jumpy, with that Carnival-ready soca swing that keeps the pace nimble but still leaves room for the bass to bite. Studio 758 lines up six cuts here, and the strongest names are easy to spot: Kes on “Your Body Working, ” Teddyson John on “Jouvert Morning, ” and Benjai on “A. T. A. O Engoma, ” with Invader, Kakal and DJ HP filling out the set. There’s a playful, cheeky edge to the whole thing, especially on “Panty And Bra” and “Salt Fish, ” but the arrangement never loses its road-march momentum. It feels very much like Studio 758 in that early-2010s St. Lucia carnival mode, the same tight, chant-friendly style that would keep feeding their Soca758 series a year later.
