Madhead Riddim – Kesta Records

Kesta Records keeps Madhead moving at a fast, street-level pace, with a sharp, shouty dancehall cut that feels made for selector use and late-night juggling. Mr Vegas’ “Stamp Yuh Foot” is the big pull here, and it fits neatly alongside Ninja Kid’s “Dis Yuh Fi Do” and Ratigan’s “Tell Some Gal, ” all of them riding the same hard-edged, dance-focused framework. The riddim itself has that brash 2013 energy: punchy drums, a lean bassline, and enough open space for the vocals to cut through without getting cluttered. Little Meekie gets two swings on it too, with “Freak out a Street” and “Freaky Dance” pushing the party mood even harder, before Ricky Myrie closes things out with the instrumental “Mad Head Riddim, ” which leaves the whole set feeling like a proper sound system tool.
