LOVE IS NOT A GAMBLE RIDDIM produced by JAMMYS RECORDS and VARIOUS LABELS 1987-1990
Love Is Not A Gamble Overview
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, dancehall music changed with the rise of the bashment flow. This style was made for the dance floor, with fast rhythms and catchy hooks. At the heart of this movement was JAMMYS RECORDS, a label started by producer King Jammy. Known for his work with digital riddims, King Jammy helped bring dancehall into a new era. JAMMYS RECORDS worked with many top artists and released some of the most popular riddims of the time. The “Love Is Not A Gamble Riddim” is a great example of this sound. Admiral Bailey stands out with “Girl Yuh Body Good.” He is famous for his energetic delivery and is known for other hits like “Big Belly Man.” Alton Black and Blacka Ranks team up for “A Gal A Watch You,” bringing playful lyrics and strong chemistry. Ninja Man, also known as Ninjaman, appears twice with “Test The High Power” and “My Weapon.” Ninjaman is a major figure in dancehall, known for his lyrical battles and stage presence. Shabba Ranks, who performs “Wicked Inna Bed,” became one of dancehall’s biggest stars. He won two Grammy Awards for Best Reggae Album in the 1990s and helped bring dancehall to a global audience. Even today, DJs play these tracks to keep the spirit of 1990 alive. The bashment flow and the artists on this riddim show why this era is still loved in dancehall music.
