In 2014, when dancehall was still leaning hard on slick digital riddims and quick-hit party cuts, Love Game Riddim landed with a tight, straightforward seven-track run from The Streetz Productions. The project is indexed as a 25-minute release dated April 17, 2014, and its shape tells you plenty about the intent: two versions each of Don Jah’eme’s “Confession” and Dwayno’s “Slow Wine, ” then singles from Elijah D Conrad and Sentenal before the instrumental closes things out. Dwayno’s pair is the obvious hook here, especially “Slow Wine, ” which sits right in that flirtatious, waistline-moving pocket the title suggests.
