Lionrock Riddim – Liontown Records

From Liontown Records in 2016, Lionrock Riddim sits in that reggae-dancehall pocket where social commentary and streetwise talk share the same space. Teacha Dee’s “Show Respect” sets the tone with a rootsy, direct message, while Nyne and Adonis lean into ganja advocacy on “Ganja Fi Legal, ” giving the juggling a more chant-like lift. Poppa Yzee’s “Sleep Nor Slumber” and Jalon’s “Money” keep the focus on day-to-day pressure and hustle, but it’s Heiko Sunfyah’s “Coronation Song” that lands with the most ceremony, riding the riddim like it was made for a chant in front of a crowd. The instrumental version and mix round things out without too much polish, keeping the whole set in a rough-edged, yard-style frame.
