Seven voices ride the Light Of The World riddim here, with Anthony B, Bascom X, Chuck Fender, Jah Mason, Richie Spice and Turbulence all getting a turn on Compaq Music’s 2005 juggling. Christopher Miller’s production keeps the focus on rootsy movement rather than ornament: a steady mid-tempo pulse, deep bass weight, clean guitar skanks and the kind of restrained drum pattern that leaves space for the singers to work. Richie Spice’s title cut is the clearest anchor, but Chuck Fender’s “Jah Servant” and Turbulence’s “Gift From Jah” fit the same conscious strain without crowding the arrangement. It’s a compact session, seven tracks including the version, and the riddim’s pull comes from that patient bassline and the uncluttered vocal pacing.
