Last Summer Riddim – BasslineRock

Bassline Records kept the Last Summer Riddim lean and to the point in 2012, with just five cuts carrying the vibe and a version tucked in at the end. Dark Angel and Gabriella Rego open things on Where We Need To Be, while Andidre’s Gyal You Ah Lead and Kenny Bling’s title tune push the sharper dancehall angle a little harder; Trini Wes’ Check keeps the set moving with the kind of light, sun-drenched swing the name promises. Compared with some of Bassline Rock’s more crowded one-riddim projects, this one feels tighter and more focused, almost like a quick summer snapshot rather than a full-blown showcase. It sits neatly in the label’s 2012 dancehall run: compact, catchy, and built around a handful of voices instead of trying to overstuff the rhythm.
