Out of Jamaica’s 2017 dancehall churn comes Lack Of Communication, a seven-cut set from Basedment 2665 that keeps the focus on voicing rather than star names. The tracklist moves with a straight, hard-edged dancehall pull, with Angola Black Face’s “Big Bad Riddim” and Fhiyahshua’s “Up the Ladder” setting the tone before Judgement Son, Nuversion, and Ranks take their turns over the same frame. There’s no excess here, just a tight run of artists riding a rhythm that leaves space for each vocal to cut through, and the title itself feels like part of the mood. Rasmor’s “No Charge for Rape” pushes the project into sharper territory, but Samoke’s “Maybe” lands as the cleanest final statement, closing the set with a cooler, more measured edge.
