Cyanide Records keeps this one in straight-up dancehall territory, and the hook is the lineup around Michael Swaby’s title cut “Gladiators Riddim (Battlefield). ” The set runs 13 tracks deep with 12 different voices, so it moves like a proper one-riddim juggling rather than a loose compilation, with Booba Starr’s “Extra Mile, ” Ce’ross’ “Winner, ” and Steven G’s “Every Gettho Youth” among the sharper turns. Michael Swaby shows up twice, once with the vocal version and once on the battlefield-flavored riddim cut, which gives the package a bit of sequencing interest instead of just stacking songs in a row.
