Klean Riddim – Goodlife Music

Goodlife Music keeps this one lean and straight to the point: seven tracks, six voices, and a tight 2011 dancehall set that circles the same gritty vibe without overloading the plate. The title cut has that clipped, bashy feel that leaves room for the deejays, while Miss P. and Newbalanz’s “Set Suh (Handle It)” leans into the attitude with a sharp back-and-forth, and Newbalanz’s solo “Bend Yuh Back” pushes the same energy a little harder. Pearla gets a nice spotlight too, especially on “Gyal Cyaa Too Much, ” where the delivery feels more pointed than flashy. Even with the small cast, the riddim keeps moving with enough edge to suit the early-2010s dancehall moment, when compact juggling projects were still doing real work in the sound system rotation.
