Jumbie Riddim from Maximum Sound, issued in 2003, brings together a strong early-2000s dancehall lineup with cuts from Beenie Man, Capleton, Elephant Man, Sizzla, Ward 21, and Alozade, alongside Frenchie’s title cut Jumbie Rhythm. The release runs 20 tracks in all and leans into the fast, rugged style that defined a lot of Maximum Sound’s catalog in that period, with punchy selections like Send Them Come, Roughest King, Mek Them Chat, and M 16 helping anchor the juggling. Maximum Sound, the UK-based label run by Fabrice “Frenchie” Alègre, was already building a heavy riddim archive by then, and Jumbie sits neatly in that run of sharp, street-ready productions.
