The Island Roots Riddim was born in a Kingston studio, where musicians gathered to capture a classic reggae sound with a modern twist. At the center of the project was producer Don Corleon, known for his sharp ear and innovative approach. Don Corleon, whose real name is Donovan Bennett, has been a key figure in reggae and dancehall since the early 2000s. He is behind Corleon Records and has worked with many top artists, helping shape the sound of modern Jamaican music. The riddim provided a solid foundation for several standout tracks. Ce'Cile delivered "Loyal," a song that mixes her smooth vocals with heartfelt lyrics. Her performance brought warmth and emotion, making it a favorite among reggae fans. Shaggy, a global reggae star, added his signature style to the track "You Lied." His catchy hooks and energetic delivery gave the riddim a lively, danceable feel that connected with audiences worldwide.
