International Dub Riddim – Ruff Gem Records

One sharp little 2003 set, International Dub Riddim keeps the focus tight with just two vocal cuts and a version side from Ruff Gem Records. Gee Brown’s “No Apologies” brings the more reflective edge, while Richie Davis comes in with “Alleluia Kumbeyah, ” leaning into a rootsy, devotional mood that sits comfortably against the instrumental. With only three tracks, there’s no room for filler, and the riddim uses that space to stay spare and unhurried rather than overpacked. The version closes the circle cleanly, but it’s Richie Davis who leaves the deepest mark here, turning the release into a small, concentrated slice of early-2000s reggae production.
