INDISCRETIONS RIDDIM produced by JUKE BOXX PRODUCTIONS 2009
Indiscretions Overview
The Indiscretions Riddim was born in a Kingston studio, where roots musicians worked closely with the producer to create a sound that honored classic reggae while adding a modern touch. The instrumental was carefully built, layer by layer, using live drums, deep bass, and warm keyboards. The roots craftsman behind the riddim wanted each part to feel authentic, drawing inspiration from reggae’s golden era but making sure the music could speak to a new generation. JUKE BOXX PRODUCTIONS led the project. The label, founded by Shane Brown, is known for its strong catalog of reggae and dancehall hits. JUKE BOXX has worked with top artists over the years and is respected for keeping reggae’s cultural message alive, both in Jamaica and worldwide. Several artists brought their unique voices to the Indiscretions Riddim. Busy Signal, one of Jamaica’s most versatile stars, delivered two tracks: “beep” and “missing you.” Busy Signal is widely recognized for his hit “Stay So” and his album “Parts of the Puzzle,” which charted on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart. Timeka added a heartfelt performance with “hush,” showing her vocal strength and emotional delivery. Peetah Morgan, known as the lead singer of Morgan Heritage—a Grammy-winning reggae band—gave the riddim depth with his song “secrets.” Assassin, also known as Agent Sasco, brought energy with “stay like bees.” He is known for his collaborations with international artists, including a feature on Kanye West’s “Yeezus” album. Capleton, a major voice in conscious reggae and dancehall, contributed “acres,” adding fire and spiritual power to the mix. The Indiscretions Riddim stands out as a strong example of reggae in 2009, blending roots tradition with modern voices and production.
