HYPNOTIZE RIDDIM produced by KEMAR FLAVA MCGREGOR 2016
Hypnotize Overview
The Hypnotize Riddim came together in the studio with a clear goal: to create a roots reggae sound that connects with both the dancefloor and the soul. The arranger worked closely with each artist, making sure the music felt warm, honest, and full of island storytelling. Every part of the riddim, from the bass to the guitar, was chosen to support the singers and their messages. At the center of this project is producer Kemar “Flava” McGregor. He’s well known for his work in reggae, especially with his No Doubt Records label. McGregor helped shape modern roots reggae in the 2000s and 2010s, producing for big names and bringing a clean, rootsy sound to a new generation. His productions have reached millions of streams, and he’s respected for keeping reggae’s roots alive while also pushing it forward. On the Hypnotize Riddim, each artist brought their own style. Nico D Ft. Ras Kinky deliver “Coming Home,” a heartfelt song about returning to your roots. Admiral P Ft. Makeda T share “The For Me,” with smooth harmonies and a message of love. Rayvon’s “Cant Resist Your Touch” brings a gentle, romantic vibe. Ed Robinson gives us “Girls Night Out,” a tune full of joy and celebration. Gappy Ranks sings “Sunshine,” spreading positive energy and hope. This riddim also features Pressure with “Every Time You Call,” Jamelody’s “I Wanna Love You,” Exco Levi’s “Legalise My Herbs,” Million Stylez’s “I Remember,” and Macka B’s “Herb A Get Free Again.” Each track fits perfectly, making the riddim a staple in roots sessions and an important part of reggae history.
