Kemar “Flava” McGregor’s Classic Riddim arrived in 2010 on the No Doubt label through VP Records’ Riddim Driven series, and it sits among the producer’s most polished roots-and-lovers juggling sets. McGregor was already one of the scene’s more reliable modern reggae hitmakers, known for clean, radio-ready productions that still hold on to a warm one-drop feel.

The riddim moves at a bright mid-tempo pulse, with a steady skank and a smooth, uncluttered arrangement that leaves room for the singers to stretch out. It feels built for melody rather than aggression, and that is exactly why the lineup lands. Beres Hammond opens the set with “No Apology, ” bringing his veteran phrasing and emotional weight. Etana’s “I Know You Love Me” adds a softer, woman-led counterpoint, while Maxi Priest’s “Like An Angel” and Wayne Wonder’s “In Your Eyes” push the lovers side hardest. Singing Melody, Gramps Morgan, Lukie D and Pressure keep the mood affectionate and reflective, and Duane Stephenson’s “Soon As We Rise” with Ras Shiloh gives the project its deepest roots moment. Khago’s “Love Stomach” and Tony Curtis’ “Golden Eyes” bring a more direct street-level romance to the mix.
