Originally cut in 1987, Stop The Fighting Riddim brings together Dennis Brown’s title track with later version cuts from Beres Hammond, Beres Hammond and Buju Banton, Anthony Cruz, Delly Ranks, Maxi Priest, Queen Ifrica, and Richie Stephens and Assassin. Produced by Willie Lindo for WKS, with Donovan Germain handling the 2007 Penthouse side of the project and a Fire Ball contribution on the lineup, it links a classic Brown foundation to a later set of modern dancehall and lovers rock interpretations. The riddim is tied to one of Dennis Brown’s better-known late-era songs, and the title cut gives the whole package its rootsy, reflective edge.
