Hot Steppa Riddim leans harder into straight dancehall pressure than the more melody-led projects some selectors were pushing in 2008, with Capleton, Vybz Kartel and Sizzla carrying the sharpest cuts. It’s a compact seven-track run, and Kartel’s “Girls” is the obvious anchor, especially with the radio edit sitting right beside the rawer sequence. Galaxy P’s “Money” adds a slicker, more playful edge, while Capleton and Sizzla keep the energy rough and militant.
