Hostile Takeover Riddim arrived in 2022 from Lenky and Bulpus Productions, with a sharp dancehall juggling that runs 10 tracks deep and brings together Busy Signal, Capleton, Vershon, Munga Honorable, Delly Ranx, Jah Izrehl, and Qrush. Busy Signal’s In Town and Capleton’s Wah Do Some Clown are two of the key cuts, while the tracklist also includes clean and raw versions of Vershon’s Ring the Alarm, Munga Honorable’s A We Motto, and Delly Ranx’s Sidung. Jermaine “Lenky” Edwards and Norman “Bulpus” Bryan have long been known for their work in Jamaican dancehall production, and this release followed their push to keep the juggling format front and centre. One noticeable detail is the mix of gritty solo cuts and duplicate clean/raw versions, which gives the riddim a distinctly hardcore dancehall feel.
