HIGH SUPREMACY RIDDIM 2.0 – DAMAGE MUSIQ 2020

Damage Musiq’s High Supremacy Riddim 2. 0 arrived in 2020 as part of the Montego Bay producer’s run of trap-leaning dancehall projects. Dwayne Parkinson has built Damage Musiq into both a label and a production imprint, and by the time this sequel dropped he was already moving with the kind of momentum that made his name familiar across the modern dancehall circuit.

This version runs with ten cuts and keeps the energy sharp and street-facing. The beat sits in that hard, digital pocket with a dark bounce, heavy drum programming and a restless, cruising feel that suits the era’s trap-dancehall crossover. Rygin King’s Me, Myself and I is the obvious anchor, and having it appear in both clean and raw versions says plenty about the record’s reach. His melodic style and patois-laced phrasing give the riddim one of its most immediate hooks.

Jafrass brings grit to I’m Blessed, while ZJ Liquid’s Life In The Ghetto and Navino’s Life Too Short push the project toward reflective territory without softening the pulse. Singer J’s Cut Them Off has the kind of stern, no-nonsense delivery that works well over a menacing rhythm, and Prohgres adds another angle with Moments. Roxxie’s Now Or Never and Shawna’s Tough Life keep the rollout balanced, while Vantage’s While I’m Winning closes it out with determined, upward-moving energy.

High Supremacy Riddim 2. 0 fits squarely into Damage Musiq’s 2020 run: a producer-led juggling built for selectors, streaming, and the new school of dancehall that was living just as comfortably in the street as it was online.
