Low-slung dancehall energy runs through Cornelius Records’ High Class Riddim, a 2016 juggling that keeps the focus tight with just five voiced cuts and a clean/raw pair from Lady Rage on “Hot Type. ” The rest of the lineup moves in a straight, chant-friendly lane: Mr. G’s “Champion Bubbla, ” Razor B’s “We Run Di Globe, ” Sashique’s “Tell Me What To Do, ” and Savage’s “Gyal Time, ” with each tune sitting neatly on the same crisp instrumental bed. Cornelius keeps the arrangement lean, letting the riddim’s bounce and empty space do the heavy lifting instead of crowding it out.
