HENNESSY HAIL RIDDIM produced by D1 PRODUCTIONS – 2011
Hennessy Hail Overview
In 2011, the dancehall scene was buzzing with energy. At the heart of this excitement was the creation of the Hennessy Hail Riddim, a bashment project that blended hardcore deejay cuts with smooth, catchy vocals. The journey began in Kingston, where D1 PRODUCTIONS - set out to craft a riddim that would stand out. Known for shaping dancehall sounds, D1 PRODUCTIONS - had already made a name with releases that earned strong street respect and streaming numbers across the Caribbean. The riddim’s creation was a team effort, but the real magic happened at the mixing board. The mixing board king, a respected engineer in the local scene, fine-tuned each track, balancing the thumping bass and crisp snares that defined the year’s party vibe. Every layer was carefully adjusted to make sure the riddim hit hard in sound systems and dancehalls alike. As the project came together, a lineup of talented artists was invited to ride the riddim. Chedda brought fire with “Hennessy Hail,” a favorite in dancehall circles. Dudsymil followed with “My Love,” adding a smooth touch. Mitch’s “Want It” and Pamputtae’s “Wine Pon This” kept the energy high—Pamputtae is well known for her empowering anthems and bold stage presence. Pierre Pressure’s “High School Crush,” Shane O’s “Inna Yuh House,” Tonya P’s “Finest Man,” and Touchless with “Tek The Spotlight” each added their own flavor. Looking back, the Hennessy Hail Riddim captured the spirit of 2011—wild, fun, and unforgettable.
