Head Shot Riddim – Cp1 Records

CP1 Records steps away from the lighter side of soca here and leans hard into a tougher, more militant mood, with the title alone setting the tone. The riddim moves with a clipped, driving pulse and a dark edge that suits the deejay cuts, especially D Blacks’ “Boy Dead” and Punisha’s “Kingston Mi Born, ” while Ch N’s “Lighten You Up” adds a sharper contrast without softening the overall attack. K Dan, Nu Money, Woney and Zabrick keep the tension high, but it’s the instrumental “Head Shot Riddim” itself that ties the whole thing together, and CP1 even doubles up with “Real Bad Man” for another angle on the same menacing framework.
