    Active energy. CP1 Records’ 2010 Active Riddim rides that lean, digital-era dancehall pulse with sharp kicks and a restless bounce, the kind of bed that leaves room for chants about movement, money, bad mind, and late-night whining. CP and Karamanti give it some of the cleanest moments, while Fresh P, Real Sheriff, and Stamma Kid lean into the tougher side of the rhythm with cuts like “Taller Dan Dem (Shell Dem Down), ” “Wine Up, ” and “Money Pan Pause. ” There’s a little bit of everything here, from swaggering party business to more pointed street talk, which is exactly how a lot of 2010 riddims were working at the time: high-energy, hook-heavy, and built for selectors who wanted a tune that could catch fast.
