Half A Bread Riddim – Bassline Rock Music / Genio

Half A Bread Riddim comes in with that rough, streetwise dancehall feel Bassline Rock Music and Genio were clearly chasing in 2015, all skittering drums, tough low end and hooks built for gunfinger sessions. Al Pancho’s “Bagga Wire Family” has that gruff community-center energy, while Froggy Maddsquad and Jeffrey Mykals’ “We Nuh Fear Dem” leans harder into the confrontational side of the riddim. Bay C of T. O. K. turns “Dr Do Little” into one of the more memorable cuts, and Mr Myaz’s “Dem Badmind” keeps the badmind-talk theme rolling without losing the bounce. The line-up runs deep, but the names that jump out give the set its shape, from Venom Legacy’s “Street Life (Just Life)” to Tanto Metro and Devonte’s “Bad Boyz. ” It landed in January 2015, and it sounds like a snapshot of that year’s no-nonsense dancehall lane.
