Gwada Overview

In 2017, the soca scene was filled with energy, and one of the most talked-about releases was the Gwada Riddim. The project was arranged and produced by FOX PRODUCTIONS, a label known for bringing fresh Caribbean sounds to the festival circuit. FOX PRODUCTIONS has a history of working with top soca artists and is respected for their high-quality production and creative approach. The recording process for the Gwada Riddim brought together talent from across the islands. The team focused on capturing the lively spirit of carnival, using real instruments and authentic rhythms. This made the riddim stand out in fete playlists that year. Each artist added their own touch to the riddim. Fox Productions delivered the core track, Gwada Riddim, setting the stage for the others. Marzville’s “Fog Up” was a strong favorite, following his earlier hit “Give It To Ya,” which helped him gain recognition in the soca world. Motto and Fadda Fox teamed up for “Shell Dong Dat,” bringing a powerful energy that matched the parade atmosphere. Mr Legz contributed “Must Wet,” and Skinny Banton added “Aye,” both helping to keep the crowd moving. Together, these artists shaped the parade flow and gave the 2017 festival season a soundtrack that fans still remember.
