Out of Jamaica’s dancehall lane in late 2017, Grim Reaper Riddim comes in hard and dark, with Tommy Lee Sparta’s “Murda Dem” and Shane O’s “Nuh Story” giving the set its sharpest edges. J1 Production keeps the pace tight across 12 cuts and 34 minutes, and the track list leans into militant titles and grim talk rather than anything playful. The sequencing is straightforward, with the main vocal versions carrying the project and radio edits tucked in on a few songs, including “Barrel a Spin, ” “All Night, ” “Nuh Story, ” and “Champ. ” The full set was released on October 27, 2017, under J1 Production and 21st Hapilos Digital.
