By 2004, 2 Miles had already locked into that sharp, rootsy dancehall-reggae lane, and Greedy And Who Cares Riddim keeps it close to the bone with a lean six-track set anchored by Capleton’s “I See Them Quaking” and Natty King’s “Mister Greedy, ” a song he was already familiar with from the momentum around his 2003 debut No Guns to Town. The production leans on conscience lyrics and a stern, propulsive groove rather than flash, so the Natty King cuts do most of the heavy lifting here, especially the dub mix and version of “Mister Greedy, ” which let the rhythm breathe a little. Capleton’s lone outing adds the rough edge the set needs, and the whole thing stays compact: two artists, six tracks, and a title that says exactly what the riddim is aiming at.
