Gold Plaque Riddim – Gold Plaque Entertainment

Gold Plaque Riddim lands a little cleaner and more focused than the name might suggest, leaning into a glossy, mid-tempo dancehall groove rather than anything overly heavy or aggressive. Gold Plaque Entertainment put it out in February 2017, and the set keeps its attention on party-ready cuts and body-movement tunes, with Razor B’s “Work, ” Tiana’s “Turn It, ” and Vybrant’s “Whine Wheelie” doing a lot of the lifting. Savage’s “Physically Fit” and Teflon Young King’s “Ramp Rough” give the riddim a tougher edge, while the inclusion of both radio and explicit versions of “Turn It” points to a producer who knew exactly which track they wanted to push. The sequencing feels deliberate too, moving from cleaner opener tunes into the more dancefloor-forward end of the tracklist.
