GINGER BEER RIDDIM produced by PURE MUSIC PRODUCTIONS 2021
Ginger Beer Overview
In 2021, a new dancehall riddim began to take shape in Kingston’s studios. PURE MUSIC PRODUCTIONS, a label known for its sharp, contemporary sound and a string of popular releases, set out to create something fresh. The team, with a history of pushing dancehall forward, worked late nights to craft the Ginger Beer Riddim—a beat that was both classic and modern, bubbling with energy. When the riddim was ready, PURE MUSIC PRODUCTIONS called on some of dancehall’s most respected voices. Delly Ranx, a veteran with hits like “Punkaana” to his name, brought his signature style to “Flag.” Demarco, famous for the international success of “Fallen Soldiers,” delivered “You Me Love,” a track that quickly became a crowd favorite. Mr Vegas, known worldwide for songs like “Heads High,” gave fans “Jah Will Not Forget,” adding a conscious vibe to the project. Agent Sasco, also known as Assassin, contributed “Waiting For.” Sasco has worked with global stars, including Kanye West on “I’m In It,” bringing extra weight to the riddim. Vershon, who rose to prominence with “Inna Real Life,” added his own flare with “Bus It Wide Open.” Other artists like Determine (“Send It Back A Yard”), DC0D3 (“Cyah Gi Mi Dat”), Knock Shizzle (“Farin Mind”), Madd One (“Badman Swag”), and Log On Unknown (“Raiden”) also blessed the riddim, each track adding a new flavor. From its creation to release, Ginger Beer Riddim echoed through clubs across Jamaica. Years later, selectors still draw for it, proof of its lasting impact in the bashment scene.
