By 2011, Digital Link were leaning into the rootsier side of the modern reggae riddim wave, and Ghetto Steam sits right in that pocket with eight vocals riding one lean, conscious backdrop. Chezidek’s “More Trees” sets the tone early, while Perfect’s “Tax Extortion” and Zamunda’s “Dem A Enemy” push the sharper social-commentary angle. The production keeps its hand light but firm: a clipped one-drop pulse, steady bassline, and enough space around the drums for the singers to stretch out. Hytanyah, Kali Blaxx, Kharuso, and Ras Myrhdak each work the groove from a different angle, but the riddim itself stays the anchor, with that dry, rolling low end carrying the whole set at a measured 82 BPM.
