GANG WAR RIDDIM produced by BABY G PRODUCTIONS 2007
Gang War Overview
In 2007, dancehall was moving fast with new sounds and fresh energy. The Gang War Riddim arrived right in the middle of this wave, making its mark at parties and street events across Jamaica. Its sharp, driving beat fit perfectly with the bold spirit of that year’s bashment scene. The riddim was created by BABY G PRODUCTIONS, a label run by Omar “Baby G” Goodison. Baby G is the son of the legendary King Jammy, and his productions have helped shape modern dancehall. Known for working with top artists and keeping the family’s musical legacy alive, Baby G’s riddims often blend traditional vibes with new-school attitude. On Gang War Riddim, Aidonia stands out with “Mps,” showing the lyrical power that made him a fan favorite. Bounty Killer brings his signature voice and commanding presence to “Its Okay.” Bounty Killer is well known for his hit “Look,” and has won several awards, including the 2002 MOBO Award for Best Reggae Act. Damian Jr Gong Marley delivers “One Loaf Of Bread,” adding his Grammy-winning style to the mix. His album “Welcome to Jamrock” won Best Reggae Album at the Grammys in 2006. De Marco’s “Badman Story” and Delly Ranks with “We Nuh Fraid” both keep the energy high, each artist bringing their own flavor. Together, these tracks made the Gang War Riddim a standout sound in 2007’s dancehall.
