Full Bloom Riddim – Zion High Productions

Zion High Productions returns with Full Bloom Riddim, a 2024 roots-reggae set that lands as part of the Zion I Kings riddim series and carries that crew’s polished, musician-forward approach. The release came out on July 19, 2024, and runs through 14 tracks, closing with a dub version that gives the package a proper finish.

The sound is warm, steady, and deeply roots-oriented, sitting around a mid-tempo pulse with live-feel instrumentation, brass touches, flute accents, and a clean mix that leaves space for the voices. David “Jah David” Goldfine is behind the dub mix, while the Zion I Kings team works with players including Roberto Sanchez on drums, Okiel McIntyre on trumpet and trombone, and Zoe Brown on flute. That live-band detail gives the riddim real shape instead of a looped, generic backdrop.

The vocal lineup reads like a cross-section of modern conscious reggae and veteran weight. Imeru Tafari opens with “1930, ” Capleton follows with the commanding “Hold Your Head, ” and Micah Shemaiah rides “Dis Ya Rockers” with his familiar roots discipline. Kabaka Pyramid’s “Start My Day” and Jesse Royal’s “Love That Don’t Change” bring a smoother, more melodic touch, while Peetah Morgan adds another strong family-rooted anthem on “Who Run The World. ” Lutan Fyah and Little Roy revamp “Jah Can Count On I, ” giving the set one of its most engaging combinations. Pressure Busspipe, Reemah, MediSun, Ras Teo, Glen Washington, Arkaingelle and Jalifa keep the energy conscious and devotional throughout.

It feels less like a simple compilation than a carefully voiced roots session, with enough breadth to keep the riddim moving and enough consistency to make the whole thing hang together.
