Yung Lgnd Music’s Coronation Riddim arrived in January 2024 as a short, four-cut reggae package that pairs veteran firepower with newer voices. The rhythm itself feels modern but rooted in classic dancehall craft: a steady, midtempo bounce, a firm bassline, and enough open space for each singer to stretch out without crowding the mix. It’s the kind of juggling that leaves room for a chant, a hook, and a memorable drop.

Capleton is the anchor here, and that makes sense. The St. Mary-born deejay has spent decades turning conscious reggae into battle music, with that rough-edged delivery and prophet-like intensity that made him a fixture of the roots and dancehall lanes. On Suffering Too Long, he sounds right at home over a rhythm that gives his warnings real weight. Munga Honourable, also from St. Mary, brings a more streetwise, high-energy attack on Coronation Day, a cut that fits his reputation for sharp delivery and hard-nosed dancehall phrasing.

T’Nez’s In My Arms softens the mood with a more melodic turn, while Sandy Star’s Set Me On Fire adds a warmer, more romantic pull to the project.
