Fresh Air Riddim finds Stockroom Productionz in a breezier lane than the hard-edged dancehall many listeners may know them for, and the result is a clean, sunlit soca cut that still keeps enough muscle in the drums to move a crowd. Keke’s “Casualty” has the sharpest pull of the vocal cuts, while Shazeke’s “Go Down” and Stamina Smurf’s “Not Ah Soul” ride the rhythm with the kind of loose, party-ready phrasing that suits the production’s light synths and tight percussive bounce. Stockroom also leave room for their own instrumental version, which lets the melodic hook and pacing do most of the talking instead of crowding the arrangement.
