When the street anthem base of Freestyle Riddim was first crafted, it was made with one thing in mind: the dance floor. The riddim architect, JONNY BLAZE X STADIC MUSIC, brought years of production experience to the table. Known for their work with major artists and their own Stadic Music label, this duo has scored millions of streams across the Caribbean and beyond. Their touch is recognized from projects like “Shape of You (Remix)” with Ed Sheeran and their influence on the modern bashment sound. The heartbeat of Freestyle Riddim is unmistakable. From the studio, the riddim’s pulsing bass and crisp drums called out for big voices and bold lyrics. Ding Dong answered with “Yo Pull Up,” bringing the same energy that made his hit “Fling” a staple in dancehall. Stylo G teamed up with Tana Kimone for “Spend,” a track that shows Stylo G’s UK-Jamaican flavour—he’s known for his chart-climbing single “Touch Down” featuring Nicki Minaj and Vybz Kartel. Tana Kimone also shines solo on “Spend — Spend,” showing her versatility. Chi Ching Ching, famous for the dance anthem “Roast or Fry (Breadfruit),” delivers “Vaccine” with his signature playful style. Bunji Garlin, a soca heavyweight and winner of the 2013 Soul Train Award for Best International Performance, brings the Caribbean together with “Trini Lingo.” From its first play in dancehalls to its spread across streaming platforms, the Freestyle Riddim’s street anthem base proved its power.
