Flare Up Riddim – Realist Entertainment

Rough edges. Flare Up Riddim keeps the focus on a compact five-track dancehall run from Realist Entertainment, and that smaller cast gives each tune room to cut through. D Blackz opens with “Top Gyalist, ” a sharp-tongued flex record, while Lady Danger’s “Fast Money” pushes the energy into money-talk territory without losing the riddim’s sting. The set leans more streetwise than glossy, with The Rara’s “Innocent” and RedMan Uk’s “Mek Dem Talk” adding different shades of attitude before Ras Charmer closes it out with “A Nuh Everything, ” the most reflective cut in the bunch. Released in May 2021, it’s a lean, no-nonsense dancehall package, but Ras Charmer’s finish gives the project its clearest aftertaste.
