FESTIVAL JAM RIDDIM produced by ADRIATIC SOUND 2015
Festival Jam Overview
In 2015, roots reggae was enjoying a fresh wave of energy, with artists and producers looking back to classic foundation rhythms for inspiration. The Festival Jam Riddim was one of those releases that captured the timeless reggae sound. Its rhythm echoed the traditional reggae beats that shaped the genre in Jamaica decades before, but with a modern touch that fit the mood of the year. Behind this riddim was ADRIATIC SOUND, a producer and label known for blending classic reggae with new ideas. Based in Italy, ADRIATIC SOUND has worked with a number of reggae artists and is respected for keeping the roots reggae sound alive in Europe. Their productions often reach reggae fans worldwide, helping to spread the music beyond its Jamaican origins. The Festival Jam Riddim featured three standout artists. Richie Stephens brought his signature voice and uplifting style to the track "Healing of the world." Stephens is well known for his hit song "Winner," and has collaborated with international acts, making him a respected figure in reggae and beyond. Exco Levi added his unique energy to the riddim with "Rude bwoy skankin." Exco Levi is a five-time winner of the Juno Award for Reggae Recording of the Year, making him one of the most recognized reggae artists from Canada. Papa Leu completed the set with "Menu Male," adding his own flavor to the project. Each artist brought something special, and together, they made the Festival Jam Riddim a memorable part of 2015’s roots reggae revival.
