The Fast Ting Riddim has that brisk, springy feel the title promises, moving with a light reggae pulse rather than a heavy stomp, so the whole thing lands quick and bright. It’s a tiny three-track set, but that gives it a neat focus: Bobo’s “Jalapeno, ” Keanne’s “Everybody, ” and Lil Rick’s “Keep Wining” each sit right in the pocket, with Lil Rick bringing the most obvious party lift. There’s a nice line between the producer setup and the vocals here, too, because the riddim leaves enough space for the singers to lean into melody without losing the snap underneath. Coming from 2005, it feels like one of those compact session pieces you can drop into a mix and move on, no waste at all.
