Salvation Riddim (2005) – Insight Records

Insight Records keeps Salvation Riddim in a moody, roots-minded register, with six cuts from 2005 that lean heavily on conscience lyrics and Babylon talk rather than club pressure. Kandi Man’s “Leave Out A Babylon” and Keith Campbell’s “Only God Can Save Us” set the tone early, while Natty King and Ras Zipper push the same militant current from different angles. The riddim itself has that dry, driving one-drop feel that leaves plenty of space for the voices, and Turbulence’s “Mass Destruction” gives the set its sharpest edge, sounding like the kind of cut that would have cut through a sound system session straight away.
