Facts Riddim – P.V.Record

Dotta Coppa’s “Facts Of Life” gives the Facts Riddim its sharpest hook, and that’s probably why P. V. Record keeps his cut near the center of this five-track 2013 juggling. The set is compact: Daminance comes with the deeper “6 Foot Deep, ” Marktenn turns in the plainly titled “You Kno, ” Ras Goudie leans into a more personal note on “Mama, ” and The Rizzin closes out with “She Gone. ” It’s a small line-up, but the sequencing feels deliberate, moving from hard-edged reflections to more rueful, everyday themes without ever drifting far from straight reggae footing. Dotta Coppa’s contribution is the one that lingers longest, carrying the riddim’s title theme with the kind of directness that makes the whole package click.
