Extra Time Riddim – Hevs Records

By the time Hevs Records dropped Extra Time Riddim in 2019, the label was already deep into a run of compact dancehall projects, and this one keeps that same no-frills, street-minded energy with eight cuts and a neatly trimmed cast. The instrumental has that taut, skippy pulse you expect from a modern trap-leaning dancehall set, and the vocals lean into quick, catchy hooks rather than long-winded statements; Artica YMG’s “Tek Care A Yuh Gyal” and Bareface’s “Family” set the tone early, while Shu Shu gets the only double showing here with “Happy Spot” and the raw version, giving the riddim a little extra bite. I Am Musa’s “Like A Umbrella” and Sycka Don’s “Karen” round it out, and the whole package runs just over 25 minutes, with each song clocking in around the three-minute mark.
