The Extra Time Riddim was born in a small studio, where a tight group of producers and artists came together to create something fresh for dancehall in 2019. The project was led by HEVS RECORDS, a label known for its sharp sound and focus on new talent. HEVS RECORDS had already made a name for itself with its energetic productions and support of young artists, helping to push dancehall forward. The creative direction for Extra Time Riddim was clear: make a rhythm that was both modern and easy to dance to, but with enough depth to last. The riddim’s playful beat and catchy groove set the stage for each artist to shine. Artica YMG stepped up with "Tek Care A Yuh Gyal," bringing a smooth flow and catchy hooks. Bareface delivered "Family," adding heartfelt lyrics and a strong message about loyalty. HEVS RECORDS also released the "Extra Time Riddim Instrumental," letting fans and DJs enjoy the riddim on its own. I Am Musa contributed "Like A Umbrella," showing versatility and a unique voice. Leanny Frass brought energy with "Think Mi Drunk," which became a favorite at parties and dances. This yard session tape was more than just a riddim—it was a launchpad for these artists. For some, it marked their big break in dancehall.
