Silent Creeper Riddim – Black Liberty Records

Black Liberty Records kept the Silent Creeper Riddim moving in 2011, and the line-up gives it a nice spread of voices without crowding the pattern. Lutan Fyah’s “Pretty Looks” is the name that jumps out first, but Fire Star’s “Mama’S Love” and Ras Ghandi’s “Problem With The Law” help give the set some range, moving from love talk to tougher commentary. There’s a clean, straight-ahead reggae feel here rather than any heavy studio trickery, which suits the six-track format well. Ending with a version cut makes the sequencing feel deliberate too, like the producer wanted the vocal pieces to land first before letting the riddim breathe on its own.
