Big House’s Evil Chamber Riddim sits neatly in that 2021 run of compact dancehall sets the label was putting out, and this one keeps the focus tight: four cuts, four voices, no excess. The riddim itself has that dark, clipped pulse you’d expect from the title, with a grimy low end and a stark, almost eerie swing that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to cut through. Loaded Eagle sets the tone on “Goody Waan Things, ” Bastian keeps the pressure on with “Everything Chap, ” and G Bling’s “Mi An Every Scull City Thugz” leans hardest into the street edge.
