Blue Lava Entertainment’s Enchanted Riddim sits in that small but tidy 2017 chapter of the label’s catalogue, where the production keeps things rootsy and unfussy and lets the voices carry the mood. Yoncia’s “In Time” has the clearest pull, with a patient, reflective feel, while Empress Goodness comes in harder on “The Purge (Die), ” giving the set a sharper edge without breaking the calm of the riddim. Jalifa’s “Why Worry” leans into the title’s message nicely, and the closing “Enchanted Riddim (Melodica Dub)” underlines the whole thing with a warm, dubby little instrumental pass.
