DUBWISE RIDDIM produced by POT OF GOLD 2000
Dubwise Overview
In the early 2000s, roots reggae saw a fresh wave of riddims that brought new energy to the genre. One standout was the Dubwise Riddim, a rhythm that became popular in roots sessions of that time. The project was produced by POT OF GOLD, a well-known reggae label founded by singer and producer Richie Stephens. POT OF GOLD has played a key role in Jamaican music, working with many top artists and helping to shape the sound of modern roots reggae. The Dubwise Riddim featured several big names. Bounty Killer delivered "Praises," bringing his powerful voice and commanding style. Bounty Killer is famous for hits like "Look" and his Grammy-winning work with No Doubt on "Hey Baby." Elephant Man added his unique flair with "Thank You Mama." Known as the "Energy God," Elephant Man is recognized for songs like "Pon De River, Pon De Bank." How Dem Dweet, with Prof Nuts, brought their own style to the riddim. Mr Vegas performed "Tell No Lie." Mr Vegas is known worldwide for his hit "Heads High," which reached the UK Top 20. Ritchie Stephens, who is also the producer, sang "Poor People Cry," a song reflecting real life struggles. Singin Melody’s "More Love" added a smooth touch to the project. Together, these songs made Dubwise Riddim a classic sound of 2000s reggae.
