DREAMS RIDDIM produced by BIRCHILL RECORDS 2007
Dreams Overview
The “Dreams Riddim Dub” comes from Jamaica, produced in 2007. This reggae instrumental became the base for many strong tunes that year. Alborosie & Nikie brought the song “Time,” mixing Alborosie’s Italian-Jamaican roots with Nikie’s smooth style. Cherine Anderson gave the set “(Me & You) Against The World.” Cherine is known for her powerful voice and for working with Sly & Robbie on the album “The Introduction-Dubstyle.” Chris Birch, who produced the riddim, also released his own version called “Dreams Riddim.” Christopher Martin added “Looking For Love.” He is well known for winning Digicel Rising Stars in 2005 and has since released hits like “Cheaters Prayer.” Chuck Fenda’s “Dreams” added more roots feeling. Chuck Fenda is famous for his conscious lyrics and the hit “Gash Dem.” Other notable songs on the riddim include “Gun Alone Dem Glorify” by Eloquent, “Change” by Irie Love, “Have To Hustle” by Junior X, “What’s Going On With You” by Maxi Priest, and “No Fight” by Pressure. The producer behind this project is BIRCHILL RECORDS. This label, led by Chris Birch, has shaped modern reggae and dancehall. Birch is known for producing Elephant Man’s “Signal Di Plane” and for working with top artists across the genre. The “Dreams Riddim” brought deep roots and conscious energy to 2007, standing out in reggae’s modern scene.
