Dojo Riddim – Shot Master J

Shot Master J’s Dojo Riddim came out of the 2017 dancehall run with just three cuts, but it doesn’t feel underfed; the instrumental has that taut, percussive snap and clipped bassline that leaves plenty of room for the vocals. Krystal Khayne’s “Down Low” leans into the sultry side, while Stef Kalloo’s “Press Play” is the catchier, more immediate swing of the two, riding the riddim with a sharper hook. The whole thing runs about 10 minutes and landed on October 29, 2017, which keeps it in that era when compact digital riddims were still making a clean case for themselves without any excess.
